Dr. Winton Felt
.
Educational background.
Winton Felt did his graduate-level work in Systems Engineering, English, Mathematics, Management, and Psychology. In addition, he did extensive undergraduate work in Physics and Theology. Details follow. After more than 5 years of college work in Physics and Mathematics, Dr. Felt changed his focus and major to Theology. During the following three years, he maintained a "full-time" course load with concentrations in Theology and Biblical Studies. Simultaneously, he took additional courses in English and Literature. He took enough additional courses in English that he could (and did) opt to take his Bachelor’s degree in English. One year later he obtained his Master's degree in English. Then he applied for admission to graduate studies in Systems Engineering, Statistics, and Probability Theory. He achieved the highest scores in the university’s screening requirements (which focused on advanced calculus and other areas related to the proposed fields of study) and immediately commenced graduate studies in those fields. He was also accepted into the Doctoral program in English at the University of California. After he completed all the course requirements for the Doctorate in English, his father died. All academic pursuits were abandoned for a time. Later, he commenced other studies that led to his obtaining a Doctorate in Management. While working at the doctoral level toward this degree, he did additional work in statistical analysis. Also, because he had achieved the highest scores possible on the WAIS (taken to qualify for membership in MENSA), he was permitted (through a unique waiver of university policy) to simultaneously enroll in another unrelated graduate-level course of study (with the proviso that he also satisfy certain undergraduate requirements in that unrelated field). When he obtained his Doctorate in Management, he had also completed all undergraduate requirements and approximately half the graduate requirements for a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology. In the university’s history, no other student had ever been granted permission to enroll in two unrelated graduate programs at the same time. In both programs his grade average was 4.0, the highest in his Doctoral class. During most of the years of his graduate studies Dr. Felt also operated his own business, teaching classes in speed reading and study skills. He conducted reading demonstrations for groups of over 1000 people, taught classes at four Christian colleges in southern California, and conducted special classes for various Christian organizations.
