Standard & Poor's publishes the S&P 100 Index, a stock market index of United States stocks. Options are available on the S&P 100, and they are traded with the ticker symbol "OEX." The S&P 100 is a subset of the S&P 500. It includes 100 leading U.S. stocks that also have exchange-listed options. The companies included in the S&P 100 are chosen for sector balance and represent approximately 57% of the market capitalization of the S&P 500 and nearly 45% of the market capitalization of the U.S. equity markets. They tend to be the most established companies in the S&P 500.
